The M&M’s have been removed from the stairs heading up to the back of the park, which isn’t such a bad thing. Just like Magic Mountain, it was a wonderful day to be at the park yesterday! Medusa is running its normal two trains and looking as photogenic as ever. Over in Oasis Plaza, Kong remains at one train, and never had more than a station wait all day.
Speaking of general investments and additions, the entire path from Monsoon Falls down to Sea Lion Stadium has had its fences replaced to be lined with benches, providing more seating opportunities! Please Six Flags Magic Mountain, observe… In addition, Panda Express is undergoing a change into the Six Flags brand joint, Chop Six, the sign has already been placed it should open relatively shortly. One of the old Primo’s building is being transformed into a JB’s Barbecue Sports Bar, which will feature a park-first: indoor dining! The food court has quite some work going on. In fact the whole area to enter the queue has been closed off, probably to give RMC a little bit more room to work with on The Joker. In that same area Superman: Ultimate Flight has been closed as well for its annual maintenance. All three water rides in the park down, oh well.
Tsunami Soakers was even closed, yes you heard that right, for maintenance that is. Voodoo on the other hand has finally reopened. Speaking of water rides, White Water Safari has been closed down as well, as it usually is this time of year. Just around the corner, Monsoon Falls remains closed, although entirely stripped of any Fright Fest theming. The Dolphin statue has returned to its usual place in the fountain, although there is still no water due to the drought. With all that in mind, can we really call Discovery Kingdom less than ever changing?
RESTAURANTS NEAR SIX FLAGS DISCOVERY KINGDOM UPDATE
Even while ignoring The Joker (since we published that update yesterday), we’ve seen rides open from and close for maintenance, the construction of new restaurants, and a brand new attraction make its soft debut. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a park ever changing this year.
